Why Tr Groove for Application-Specific Spinning

The Tr groove does not carry a fixed, published count window in our catalogue data. It is matched to the fibre and count of the mill’s own order, and our engineers confirm the pairing before the order is released. Machine side and count side are confirmed as one selection, which is what keeps the rotor matched to the job.

Tr Groove — Yarn Count Range

Tr is specified against the application: give us the fibre and the target count and we confirm the groove before the order is released. Groove and cup size are confirmed together when the order is placed.

Tr

Tr Groove — Count Confirmed Per Order

Because the usable count window of the Tr groove is not published as a fixed band, this rotor is specified against the application. Send the fibre type, the target Ne and the spinning position, and our engineers confirm the correct groove, cup size and coating — the order is released only after that check. The rotor still fits a defined bearing group, so the machine side is never in question.

Less Risk in the Change-Over

Confirming the pairing up front avoids the trial-and-error that otherwise costs mill time after installation.

Coating Chosen With the Rotor

The surface coating is confirmed together with the rotor selection, so abrasive fibre and high speeds are planned for.

⊙

Defined Bearing Group

The rotor still belongs to a specific bearing group, so machine compatibility is unambiguous.

Quotation Follows the Selection

Lead time and price follow the confirmed selection rather than an assumed one.

Surface Engineering

What D Means: Base and Working Surface

The trailing letters of the model code are two independent codes, not one word: B is the substrate, D is the working surface. The diamond face is the reason this rotor holds its groove profile on long runs. Confirm your fibre mix and speed with us before a bulk order. Every assembly is 100% dynamically balanced before it leaves the balancing line.

B — Boronized base
Not in this code · The -BD- models add it
Substrate hardening
Boronized / boron steel Supports the D layer Fibre impact

B = boronized (boron-steel) substrate. A diamond film is only microns thick, so the steel underneath decides whether it survives: a soft substrate deforms under fibre and grit impact and the film cracks and spalls off. The boronized base is the hardening step that keeps the diamond layer intact. This code does not carry the B step; it is the -BD- variant that pairs the diamond layer with the boronized base.

D — Diamond coating
In this code · Working surface
HV 1000-1200
CVD diamond film Friction 0.05–0.1 Anti-stick

D = diamond top layer, grown on the prepared substrate as a micron-scale film. It takes the fibre and grit contact directly, which is where the wear resistance, the friction coefficient of 0.05–0.1 and the anti-stick behaviour come from that hold the groove profile over long runs. Diamond coating technology of US origin, applied on JSM’s own treatment line.

Compatibility

Which Rieter Machines Use C341/Tr-D?

On semi-automatic machines the bearing decides compatibility: T013 here, on the Rieter R923 and R35 platform.

✓ Rieter R923 and R35 — T013 bearing
Semi-automatic platform. C341/Tr-D is one of 9 rotor models in the Rieter R923 and R35 T013 group, running to 110,000 rpm with a recommended ceiling of ≤ 90,000 rpm.
✗ Rieter R36 / R37 — T013 bearing, S-series rotors
The R36 and R37 machines use the same T013 bearing family but S-series rotor codes (S341/U-D, S533/U-D and others) — not interchangeable with C-series.
✗ Rieter R923 / R35 — 73-1-69 bearing group
The same machines also run a 73-1-69 bearing group (C248/U-D, C250/U-D and others): different bearing, so the rotors do not interchange.
✗ Rieter R1 / R20 / R40 / R60
Fully automatic platforms using R20 Twin Disc, R40-AE / R40-EC or R60-AE1 / R60-EC1 bearings — a different rotor group entirely.

FAQ

C341/Tr-D — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most often about this rotor. If yours is not listed, send it with your machine model and current rotor code — we reply within 24 hours.

Is C341/Tr-D compatible with my Rieter R923 and R35 machine?
C341/Tr-D uses the T013 bearing and belongs to the Rieter R923 and R35 rotor group of 9 models, running to 110,000 rpm with a recommended ceiling of ≤ 90,000 rpm. The R36 and R37 machines take the S-series rotor codes instead, so a C-series rotor will not fit them. Send us your machine model and current rotor code and we confirm within 24 hours.
What does the model code C341/Tr-D mean?
Codes in this range read as series letter, rotor number, groove and coating suffix. C341 identifies the rotor in the R923 and R35 series, Tr is the groove profile (no published count band — confirmed per order), and the trailing D is the diamond top layer (the -BD- variants add a boronized base under it). The series letter also fixes the machine side: C-series rotors belong to the R923 / R35 group, S-series rotors to R36 / R37.
What yarn counts does the Tr groove suit?
There is no fixed count window published for the Tr groove in our catalogue data. The usable band is confirmed against your fibre and target count before the order is released, so the rotor is matched to the application rather than to an assumed range.
What do the letters BD mean in the model code C341/Tr-D?
The diamond layer is applied on JSM’s own treatment line, to diamond coating technology of US origin, over the prepared substrate. Because B and D are separate steps, we quote the code your machine actually calls for: send us the rotor code you are running and we confirm the substrate and coating build, plus the bearing variant, with the quotation.
How much does an OEM-equivalent rotor save versus the original?
Pricing follows the confirmed selection: 40–60% below the OEM original at the same dimensional accuracy, with a standard 7–15 day lead time. Samples are accepted for quality verification before a bulk order.
Can I order the rotor spindle or rotor cup separately?
We supply the complete assembly — cup, spindle and bearing — and the individual components as well. Tell us the machine side and the worn part and we will say whether a partial replacement is enough.
