JSM rotor complete assemblies - precision rotor cups and spindles for OE rotor spinning machines
One Part, Multiple Names

Rotor Complete, Rotor Assembly or Rotor Cup Complete — Same Component

The ready-to-mount unit is called a rotor complete on most platforms, a rotor assembly in maintenance documentation, and a rotor cup complete in parts catalogues. The rotor cup and spindle can also be ordered separately — tell us how your machine’s parts list names it, and we match the correct configuration.

What’s Inside the Unit

Anatomy of a JSM Rotor Complete

Every rotor complete leaves the factory as one balanced unit — no pressing, no mounting, no guesswork at your mill.

1

Rotor Cup

Precision-machined rotor cup (cup head) whose groove type defines the yarn count range — G, GT, K, S, T, T(B5), U, TT and GL profiles.

2

Rotor Spindle

Precision-ground rotor spindle (rotor shaft) matched to the cup for high-speed rotation, with balancing-matched fit and surface finish.

3

Complete Unit

Pre-assembled and dynamically balanced rotor complete — ready to mount. Rotor bearings are supplied separately from JSM’s 13-model bearing line.

Groove Type Guide

Which Rotor Groove for Your Yarn?

Rotor groove geometry directly affects fibre collection, yarn strength and spinning stability. Use the table below as a starting point — our engineers confirm the final groove with your yarn count and fibre blend.

Groove TypeYarn Count Range (Ne)Typical Use
G16–40Medium to fine yarns
GT3–30Coarse to medium yarns
K30–40Fine yarns
S16–40Medium to fine yarns
T16–40Medium to fine yarns
T (B5)16–40Medium to fine yarns
U10–30Medium-coarse yarns
TT16–40Medium-fine yarns (narrower groove, T variant)
GL3–16Coarse yarns, large-diameter rotors

Reading the model code: on Schlafhorst-platform codes, the last two digits are the rotor diameter in millimetres — for example, T533 means a T-type rotor of Φ33 mm. Standard JSM diameters range from 26 mm to 48 mm; custom diameters are manufactured on request.

Coating Guide

Three Surface Options, One Quality Standard

Coating choice balances wear resistance, fibre behaviour and cost — matched to your fibre type and rotor speed.

Recommended

DN Diamond Coating

Hardness HV 1000-1200

Maximum wear resistance and reduced fibre deposits on the groove surface. Best for abrasive fibres (recycled cotton, polyester blends) and high rotor speeds — extends rotor life and stabilises yarn quality between changes.

BD Boronized

Cost-effective hardening

Boronizing hardens the rotor surface for improved wear resistance at a lower cost — a practical choice for mills replacing rotors in high volume.

Standard Surface

Original-spec finish

Precision-machined and polished to original equipment specification for normal cotton applications — the economical baseline for standard running conditions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a rotor complete assembly?

A rotor complete assembly is the ready-to-mount unit of precision rotor cup and rotor spindle, dynamically balanced as one piece. On different machine platforms it is also called a rotor assembly or rotor cup complete. Rotor bearings are available separately from JSM.

Which machines are compatible with JSM rotor complete assemblies?

JSM covers Schlafhorst Autocoro SE7–SE20, Rieter R1/R20/R40/R60/R70/R923 and R35/R36/R37, Saurer BD320/BD330/BD350/BD380/BD448/BD416/BD6/BD7, plus Taitan, Jingwei and Rifa OE spinning machines.

How do I read a rotor model code?

On Schlafhorst-platform codes, the last two digits indicate the rotor diameter in millimetres. For example, T533 means a T-type rotor of 33 mm diameter. Standard JSM diameters range from 26 mm to 48 mm, with custom diameters available on request.

Which groove type should I choose for my yarn?

As a general guide: GL and GT for coarse counts (3–16 Ne and 3–30 Ne), G/S/T/T(B5)/TT for medium to fine counts (16–40 Ne), U for medium-coarse (10–30 Ne), and K for fine counts (30–40 Ne). Send your yarn count and fibre blend — our engineers confirm the final groove.

Which coating is recommended?

DN diamond coating (HV 1000-1200) is recommended for abrasive fibres, high rotor speeds and maximum service life. BD boronized is a cost-effective wear-resistant option, and standard uncoated rotors are available for normal conditions.

Can JSM manufacture rotor completes according to samples or drawings?

Yes. We reverse-engineer and produce compatible rotor completes from customer samples or technical drawings, with custom diameter, groove and coating, and 100% inspection before delivery.

How long does delivery take?

Standard models ship within 7–15 days. Custom orders typically take 20–30 days depending on specification.
