Why Tr Groove for Application-Specific Spinning

There is no standard count band for the Tr groove in the data we hold. Rather than quote a range the rotor cannot back up, we confirm the count per order. Because the count band is not published, the selection is checked against your fibre and target count before quoting.

Tr Groove — Yarn Count Range

No published count window for this groove. Send your target count and fibre type and we confirm the correct rotor pairing before quoting. Coating grade and count band are confirmed with the quotation for this rotor.

Tr

Tr Groove — Application-Specific Geometry

The Tr code sits outside the standard count-band families, so selection is made on the application rather than on a published range. That keeps the risk where it belongs — with our engineers, ahead of the order, not with your production floor afterwards. We would rather confirm the pairing than quote from a band the catalogue does not document.

↻

Coating Chosen With the Rotor

The surface coating is confirmed together with the rotor selection, so abrasive fibre and high speeds are planned for.

⊙

Defined Bearing Group

The rotor still belongs to a specific bearing group, so machine compatibility is unambiguous.

⌂

Quotation Follows the Selection

Lead time and price follow the confirmed selection rather than an assumed one.

Count Matched to Your Application

No fixed band is published, so the rotor is checked against your fibre, target count and spinning position.

Surface Engineering

What D Means: Base and Working Surface

The trailing letters of the model code are two independent codes, not one word: B is the substrate, D is the working surface. Diamond top layer (HV 1000-1200) with a friction coefficient of 0.05–0.1, which reduces fibre damage at the groove face. Ordering rotors, bearings and opening rollers together keeps freight and coating consistent across the spin box.

B — Boronized base
Not in this code · The -BD- models add it
Substrate hardening
Boronized / boron steel Supports the D layer Fibre impact

B = boronized (boron-steel) substrate. A diamond film is only microns thick, so the steel underneath decides whether it survives: a soft substrate deforms under fibre and grit impact and the film cracks and spalls off. The boronized base is the hardening step that keeps the diamond layer intact. This code does not carry the B step; it is the -BD- variant that pairs the diamond layer with the boronized base.

D — Diamond coating
In this code · Working surface
HV 1000-1200
CVD diamond film Friction 0.05–0.1 Anti-stick

D = diamond top layer, grown on the prepared substrate as a micron-scale film. It takes the fibre and grit contact directly, which is where the wear resistance, the friction coefficient of 0.05–0.1 and the anti-stick behaviour come from that hold the groove profile over long runs. Diamond coating technology of US origin, applied on JSM’s own treatment line.

Which Rieter Machines Use C536/Tr-D?

This rotor runs the T013 bearing, shared by the Rieter R923 and R35 semi-automatic machines. Models in the group differ by groove and rotor size, not by bearing fit.

✓ Rieter R923 and R35 — T013 bearing
Semi-automatic platform. C536/Tr-D is one of 9 rotor models in the Rieter R923 and R35 T013 group, running to 110,000 rpm with a recommended ceiling of ≤ 105,000 rpm.
✗ Rieter R36 / R37 — T013 bearing, S-series rotors
The R36 and R37 machines use the same T013 bearing family but S-series rotor codes (S341/U-D, S533/U-D and others) — not interchangeable with C-series.
✗ Rieter R923 / R35 — 73-1-69 bearing group
The same machines also run a 73-1-69 bearing group (C248/U-D, C250/U-D and others): different bearing, so the rotors do not interchange.
✗ Rieter R1 / R20 / R40 / R60
Fully automatic platforms using R20 Twin Disc, R40-AE / R40-EC or R60-AE1 / R60-EC1 bearings — a different rotor group entirely.

FAQ

C536/Tr-D — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most often about this rotor. If yours is not listed, send it with your machine model and current rotor code — we reply within 24 hours.

Is C536/Tr-D compatible with my Rieter R923 and R35 machine?
C536/Tr-D uses the T013 bearing and belongs to the Rieter R923 and R35 rotor group of 9 models, running to 110,000 rpm with a recommended ceiling of ≤ 105,000 rpm. The R36 and R37 machines take the S-series rotor codes instead, so a C-series rotor will not fit them. Send us your machine model and current rotor code and we confirm within 24 hours.
What does the model code C536/Tr-D mean?
Codes in this range read as series letter, rotor number, groove and coating suffix. C536 identifies the rotor in the R923 and R35 series, Tr is the groove profile (no published count band — confirmed per order), and the trailing D is the diamond top layer (the -BD- variants add a boronized base under it). The series letter also fixes the machine side: C-series rotors belong to the R923 / R35 group, S-series rotors to R36 / R37.
What yarn counts does the Tr groove suit?
There is no fixed count window published for the Tr groove in our catalogue data. The usable band is confirmed against your fibre and target count before the order is released, so the rotor is matched to the application rather than to an assumed range.
What do the letters BD mean in the model code C536/Tr-D?
Read the two letters separately. B describes the base: a boronized or boron-steel substrate — a hardening step, not a coating. D describes the working surface: a diamond film (HV 1000-1200) with a friction coefficient of 0.05–0.1, grown on the prepared substrate. B protects the film, D takes the wear. Which one your code carries tells you whether the substrate hardening is present (BD) or whether the rotor runs the diamond layer alone (D).
How much does an OEM-equivalent rotor save versus the original?
At equivalent dimensional accuracy our price sits 40–60% below the OEM part, and the assembly is dynamically balanced before it leaves the balancing line. Tell us the quantity and your target date and we quote price and freight within 24 hours.
Can I order the rotor spindle or rotor cup separately?
A rotor complete is the cup, the spindle (shaft) and the bearing. If only one part is worn we supply it separately rather than making you replace the whole assembly; send a photo of the worn part and we confirm the replacement.
