Why Tr Groove for Application-Specific Spinning

The Tr groove does not carry a fixed, published count window in our catalogue data. It is matched to the fibre and count of the mill’s own order, and our engineers confirm the pairing before the order is released. The model is selected on the application, so the bearing fit and the count window are confirmed together.

Tr Groove — Yarn Count Range

No published count window for this groove. Send your target count and fibre type and we confirm the correct rotor pairing before quoting. Coating grade and count band are confirmed with the quotation for this rotor.

Tr

Tr Groove — Count Confirmed Per Order

Because the usable count window of the Tr groove is not published as a fixed band, this rotor is specified against the application. Send the fibre type, the target Ne and the spinning position, and our engineers confirm the correct groove, cup size and coating — the order is released only after that check. We would rather confirm the pairing than quote from a band the catalogue does not document.

Coating Chosen With the Rotor

The surface coating is confirmed together with the rotor selection, so abrasive fibre and high speeds are planned for.

⊙

Defined Bearing Group

The rotor still belongs to a specific bearing group, so machine compatibility is unambiguous.

Quotation Follows the Selection

Lead time and price follow the confirmed selection rather than an assumed one.

Count Matched to Your Application

No fixed band is published, so the rotor is checked against your fibre, target count and spinning position.

What D Means: Base and Working Surface

The trailing letters of the model code are two independent codes, not one word: B is the substrate, D is the working surface. The D in the code is the diamond top layer — the face that takes the fibre and grit contact. On the -BD- models that same layer sits on a boronized base. Ordering rotors, bearings and opening rollers together keeps freight and coating consistent across the spin box.

B — Boronized base
Not in this code · The -BD- models add it
Substrate hardening
Boronized / boron steel Supports the D layer Fibre impact

B = boronized (boron-steel) substrate. A diamond film is only microns thick, so the steel underneath decides whether it survives: a soft substrate deforms under fibre and grit impact and the film cracks and spalls off. The boronized base is the hardening step that keeps the diamond layer intact. This code does not carry the B step; it is the -BD- variant that pairs the diamond layer with the boronized base.

D — Diamond coating
In this code · Working surface
HV 1000-1200
CVD diamond film Friction 0.05–0.1 Anti-stick

D = diamond top layer, grown on the prepared substrate as a micron-scale film. It takes the fibre and grit contact directly, which is where the wear resistance, the friction coefficient of 0.05–0.1 and the anti-stick behaviour come from that hold the groove profile over long runs. Diamond coating technology of US origin, applied on JSM’s own treatment line.

Which Rieter Machines Use S533/Tr-D?

The T013 bearing fixes this rotor to the Rieter R36 and R37 semi-automatic platform. It is one of 7 rotor models sharing that bearing group.

✓ Rieter R36 and R37 — T013 bearing
Semi-automatic platform. S533/Tr-D is one of 7 rotor models in the Rieter R36 and R37 T013 group, running to 110,000 rpm with a recommended ceiling of ≤ 105,000 rpm.
✗ Rieter R923 / R35 — C-series rotors
The R923 and R35 machines run the C-series rotor codes (C533/U-D, C536/U-D and others) on the same T013 bearing — not interchangeable with S-series.
✗ Rieter R36 / R37 — 73-1-69 bearing group
S344/S-D and S346/U-D run the 73-1-69 bearing to 80,000 rpm and do not interchange with T013 rotors.
✗ Rieter R1 / R20 / R40 / R60
Fully automatic platforms using R20 Twin Disc, R40-AE / R40-EC or R60-AE1 / R60-EC1 bearings — a different rotor group entirely.

FAQ

S533/Tr-D — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most often about this rotor. If yours is not listed, send it with your machine model and current rotor code — we reply within 24 hours.

Is S533/Tr-D compatible with my Rieter R36 and R37 machine?
S533/Tr-D uses the T013 bearing and belongs to the Rieter R36 and R37 rotor group of 7 models, running to 110,000 rpm with a recommended ceiling of ≤ 105,000 rpm. The R923 and R35 machines take the C-series rotor codes, so an S-series rotor will not fit them. Send us your machine model and current rotor code and we confirm within 24 hours.
What does the model code S533/Tr-D mean?
Codes in this range read as series letter, rotor number, groove and coating suffix. S533 identifies the rotor in the R36 and R37 series, Tr is the groove profile (no published count band — confirmed per order), and the trailing D is the diamond top layer (the -BD- variants add a boronized base under it). The series letter also fixes the machine side: C-series rotors belong to the R923 / R35 group, S-series rotors to R36 / R37.
What yarn counts does the Tr groove suit?
There is no fixed count window published for the Tr groove in our catalogue data. The usable band is confirmed against your fibre and target count before the order is released, so the rotor is matched to the application rather than to an assumed range.
What do the letters BD mean in the model code S533/Tr-D?
BD is two codes, not one word. B is the boronized (boron-steel) substrate and D is the diamond top layer, so a -BD- rotor is a hardened base with a diamond working face. The point of the pairing is mechanical: a diamond film is only microns thick, and if the steel underneath is soft, fibre and grit impact dents it and the film cracks off. The boronized base is what keeps the diamond layer intact. A -D- code carries the diamond layer on the standard substrate.
How much does an OEM-equivalent rotor save versus the original?
JSM rotor complete assemblies are dimensionally identical to the OEM original and are supplied at 40–60% below the original part price. Standard lead time is 7–15 days, with urgent orders on request. Send your quantity for a firm quotation.
Can I order the rotor spindle or rotor cup separately?
Yes. A rotor complete assembly consists of the rotor cup, the rotor spindle (shaft) and the bearing. We supply complete assemblies or individual components — tell us which part is worn and we advise the most cost-effective option.
